Time off, with a plan.

Pick a date range to plan your leave.

Assumes you work Monday–Friday and have weekends and full-day statewide public holidays off. Holidays on weekends are counted once, as weekend days. Local show days, regional, part-day and restricted-sector holidays, and school pupil-free days do not reduce leave. Employer approval is required. This tool plans booking dates, not leave entitlement, accrual or pay. Calendar exports contain holidays, not your proposed leave bookings.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use a fractional or zero leave balance?

Recommendations use whole-day bookings, so a fractional balance is rounded down. A zero balance shows future breaks requiring no leave. Suggestions start after today in the selected state. If no supported future dates remain, choose another supported year.

How does the leave planner work?

Choose a state and either check an inclusive date range or enter a supported year and leave balance to find booking dates. The planner assumes Monday–Friday work and separates leave days, weekends and full-day statewide public holidays. Employer approval is required.

What's the best time to take leave in Australia?

The Easter period and Christmas/New Year often offer strong leave value, but dates differ by state. Balance mode ranks continuous breaks by total days off, then fewer leave days, then earliest start. It checks future starts in your selected year through the following January where data is supported, and shows up to six non-overlapping alternatives, not a globally optimal combined plan.

Does this account for state-specific holidays?

Yes. Select your state and full-day statewide public holidays are excluded from the leave count. Local, regional, part-day and restricted-sector holidays, and school pupil-free days, are not deducted for the whole state. Estimated or incomplete calendars are labelled in results.
